{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

This week I am grateful for:

A cozy home.

A lovely family.

My dear kids.

Cuddle time.

Daddy's week off of work.

Some one on one time with my little Zo this week.  We don't get alone time much but this week Ro wanted to go to an event at her pre-school and Zo wanted to stay with me, it was so good to be able to just give them all of my attention for a change.

Park adventures.

Starting to decorate my home with holiday cheer.  I was feeling a little down and stressed the other afternoon so I said to my Ro and Zo I think it's time to decorate, (they have been waiting!)  We busted out some colorful Christmas lights , my cute little holiday pixies and some other seasonal decor...and we decorated and I de-stressed.

Walking around down town with my kids and enjoying the seasonal decorations with them.

Being able to be with my family on Thanksgiving.

And for the many lovely customers we will see this week.
Thank you for supporting Pippi's which in turn supports my family and my dear employees.  We are so grateful to you.

Getting Crafty for the Holiday - Sock Advent Calendar

I love sock crafts!

I was inspired to make a Sock Advent calendar this year.  It is so easy and so cute!  I made this one to display at Pippi's using a lot of our holiday and seasonal socks for men and women.

The cool thing about this is you can make it with recycled materials (finally a use for all those single socks!).  Or, you can purchase 12-24 new socks (for yourself your kids or the whole family) and get new socks as you count down to Christmas!

I like to fill my advent calender at home with fun family holiday activities like:
Make cookies with mom,
decorate a ginger bread house,
go on a walk after dark to look at the holiday lights,
drink hot chocolate with a candy cane to stir it,
watch a holiday movie,
send letters to Santa,
make an ornament... the list goes on.
I also like to include little treats for the kids but the sock advent calendar is a cool way to do both. Activities and treat for their little feet!

So use your old socks or come on into Pippi's for some cute new socks for they whole family.

If you want to make this yourself all you need is:

twine

12-24 clothespins
(12 because 24 pairs of socks takes a lot of space I would just switch my numbers after we got threw the first 12 days to save space)
We also have cute painted clothespins at Pippi's!

12 pairs of socks (or 24 singles)

paper (for your numbers)

tape

and a glue stick.

I printed my numbers then cut and pasted them to red construction paper.

After I hung my socks with my clothespins I just taped the numbers to the twine and ta da... Cuteness!

{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

This week I am thankful for:

Fall. Our weather is finally cooling down, and I am ready for it.

Good friends, big and small.

My two little sweethearts, and how they make me laugh.

The support that my family gives me.  It's so good to have a listening ear.

I also appreciate that my family lets me be their listener too.

I also appreciate the compassion that I see growing in my little kids.

And on the note of compassion and support, I am so thankful to live in this amazing community.

I am also thankful for my Ro & Zo (in every way) but I love that they are always wanting to help.  We had to go to Pippi's (many times this week for different things).  They are happy to go with me and always want to help, Ro helped me move these boxes (I was surprised she lifted it!)

And I am thankful for my dear husband, my dear friends, and my dear Pippsters.

Oh, yeah and all the fall and holiday socks!!! Woo hoo!
