{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

This week I am thankful for:

For the lovely summer we have had.

For the possibility of getting back into a regular schedule with school starting, and hoping that will make me feel less busy overwhelmed.

I am grateful that even though I have felt overwhelmed a bit this summer, at least it is with mostly good things!

For great camping vacations this summer, and for getting to spend time with almost everyone on both sides of the family.

For all the lovely days I was able to enjoy with my husband and my kids this summer.

For my amazing sister, I was so happy to see her this summer, and also I don't know how I would have managed with out her, she helped me so much!

For all the visitors we have had in town this summer. So many great people and so many sock lovers!

For a lovely summer visit with my Grammy.

For Rowan discovering and learning so much this summer. She learned to swim, ride a bike and now she is beginning to read! I can't believe she is growing so fast.

Even though I have not had much time to work on and enjoy my garden, and I let my chickens destroy part of it...the sunflowers that made it are doing well.

For a schedule change at work that will allow me to be home for most weekends.

For First day of school excitement.

First day of school clothes are all picked out.

For my sweet little family.

Back to School

I always get excited for "Back to School" usually because in Sock Land it kicks off the new fall season, and if you don't know by now this sock mama LOVES fall; fall socks, fall colors, fall clothes, boots, food and weather. Just about anything fall-ish, I'm in.
But this year as my husband heads back to work/school again, Rowan is also starting kindergarten.  So I am thinking of back to school in a whole new way.  She is very excited and has been doing her "homework" all summer.  (Not my idea, she decided that she had to practice for school each day.)
So I have been trying to think of fun little surprises for the first week of school.  Here are some ideas:

Start off on the right foot...with school themed socks!

Pencil knee highs, perfect for the first day of school! Chalkboard equations, I love these!

For a little something special in their lunches:

These Lunch mail notes are so sweet, I plan on including these in Ro's lunches, she may need a bit of help with the bit words, but I think she'll love it.

Accessorize with, stretchy headbands and cute pencil pouches.

Or suprise them with a new pair of fun socks for each day.  You could even put a special pencil or cute eraser in each pair as an additional gift.
Check out the links in the photo caption below and enter for a chance to win these socks for your child.

For a chance to win these socks make sure to FOLLOW us on Instagram,

For an additional entry into the random drawing, follow us on Facebook and share our contest post, on Facebook.

Or if you have kids going away to college, send them off with fun socks, a cute banner for their dorm room, a special coffee cup or a new mattress topper...conveniently all of these things are available at Pippi's (except of course for the mattress topper.)

And after the kids are at school and I am done crying about how fast they are growing, I will try to keep calm and celebrate a new fall, probably with a latte.

As much as I am not ready for my girl to head to Kindergarten, she is ready, and I am very ready for fall.  We are getting lots of new fall socks in all the time, come on in and re-stock your sock drawer!
