{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

This week I am grateful for:

A cozy home.

A lovely family.

My dear kids.

Cuddle time.

Daddy's week off of work.

Some one on one time with my little Zo this week.  We don't get alone time much but this week Ro wanted to go to an event at her pre-school and Zo wanted to stay with me, it was so good to be able to just give them all of my attention for a change.

Park adventures.

Starting to decorate my home with holiday cheer.  I was feeling a little down and stressed the other afternoon so I said to my Ro and Zo I think it's time to decorate, (they have been waiting!)  We busted out some colorful Christmas lights , my cute little holiday pixies and some other seasonal decor...and we decorated and I de-stressed.

Walking around down town with my kids and enjoying the seasonal decorations with them.

Being able to be with my family on Thanksgiving.

And for the many lovely customers we will see this week.
Thank you for supporting Pippi's which in turn supports my family and my dear employees.  We are so grateful to you.

Getting Crafty for the Holiday - Sock Advent Calendar

I love sock crafts!

I was inspired to make a Sock Advent calendar this year.  It is so easy and so cute!  I made this one to display at Pippi's using a lot of our holiday and seasonal socks for men and women.

The cool thing about this is you can make it with recycled materials (finally a use for all those single socks!).  Or, you can purchase 12-24 new socks (for yourself your kids or the whole family) and get new socks as you count down to Christmas!

I like to fill my advent calender at home with fun family holiday activities like:
Make cookies with mom,
decorate a ginger bread house,
go on a walk after dark to look at the holiday lights,
drink hot chocolate with a candy cane to stir it,
watch a holiday movie,
send letters to Santa,
make an ornament... the list goes on.
I also like to include little treats for the kids but the sock advent calendar is a cool way to do both. Activities and treat for their little feet!

So use your old socks or come on into Pippi's for some cute new socks for they whole family.

If you want to make this yourself all you need is:

twine

12-24 clothespins
(12 because 24 pairs of socks takes a lot of space I would just switch my numbers after we got threw the first 12 days to save space)
We also have cute painted clothespins at Pippi's!

12 pairs of socks (or 24 singles)

paper (for your numbers)

tape

and a glue stick.

I printed my numbers then cut and pasted them to red construction paper.

After I hung my socks with my clothespins I just taped the numbers to the twine and ta da... Cuteness!

{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

This week I am thankful for:

Fall. Our weather is finally cooling down, and I am ready for it.

Good friends, big and small.

My two little sweethearts, and how they make me laugh.

The support that my family gives me.  It's so good to have a listening ear.

I also appreciate that my family lets me be their listener too.

I also appreciate the compassion that I see growing in my little kids.

And on the note of compassion and support, I am so thankful to live in this amazing community.

I am also thankful for my Ro & Zo (in every way) but I love that they are always wanting to help.  We had to go to Pippi's (many times this week for different things).  They are happy to go with me and always want to help, Ro helped me move these boxes (I was surprised she lifted it!)

And I am thankful for my dear husband, my dear friends, and my dear Pippsters.

Oh, yeah and all the fall and holiday socks!!! Woo hoo!

What's New at Pippi's

So, it still feels like summer, more so than summer, right now in Fort Bragg but we are getting Pippi's ready for fall. Why? Cause fall socks are the best!!! Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what's new and I'm going to tell you now, don't wait, this stuff goes quick!

First, have you been in the kid's room lately?
It is stuffed full of knee socks, fun novelties for boys and kids and plenty of leggings and tights for your kids to be warm all winter!  My personal favorites are the sloth knee socks and the fair isle knee, (and don't forget the fox hat...I can't stand it, it's too cute!)

Also, we now carry Chooze shoes for kids!
This brand is great, the left shoe is never quite the same as the right which is so "Pippi's" and they use vegan and recycled materials.  Could it get any better?  Yes it actually does; this company invests their net profits in anti-poverty programs to provide micro-loans, training and support to help women successfully start businesses to lift themselves from poverty.  Now how cool is that?!

Chooze shoes! Right now we have sizes up to 13 kids and will be adding more.

Also for your creative kiddlings, Color your own stories.  The story is written down and the pages are blank for them to add their own illustrations.  And the "And Then" story starers lets you and your kid make up the endings to stories. So fun!

And finally the women's stuff!  Cozy legwarmers, we sell out each year so come check them out soon.  Perfect for layering with skinny jeans and boots or with you tights. Check out our Pinterest board "looks we love" for ideas on how to wear your socks, tights or leggings!

Smartwool fall is finally here, and it is so beautiful!!!

I love the pesto color!

Striped hikers!!!

Lovely knee highs <3

B.ella wools and cashmere.  Luxury socks how we love you!  As always beautiful and cozy B.ella socks.  My favorite for a gloomy day.

You are sure to see me wearing the thick over the knees all winter.  I will be slouching them down to my boots with my leggings...I can't wait till it's cold enough for this!

We also have tons of new leggings, corduroy, jean and printed they are fabulous.
New ozone socks, Foot Traffic, Sock Smith and great new men's socks too.
New fall hats which are all ready going fast, and new Ellington leather hand bags.  But you have to come in to see it all.

So, see you soon at Pippi's!
